Hello, I’m a concerned Mom. My daughter is 26, going to ethetician school in Seattle 40 hrs per week and working part-time on weekends. She has been in extreme pain and was diagnosed at Swedish hospital ER with rheumatoid arthritis in her right hip. She is no longer on our insurance and only has Aflac. Is there any program where she can get financial help for medication? She’s seeing a Dr. at a sliding scale clinic Monday, but hasn’t had much time to do research on this. Do you have any ideas?T
    Thanks,
    Karen

      Hi Karen,
Thank you for reaching out to us to help your daughter. The YWCA has a program called Health Care Access, which helps individuals access health coverage and health services. I would suggest calling Health Advocate Devin Seman at 206.461.4641 or emailing her at dseman@ywcaworks.org. While we aren’t able to help with financial assistance, Devin is able to help point you in the direction of different resources in the community.

      Best wishes,
      Katie Barnett
